RDA-South West Regional Strategic Plan

RDA-South West put together its regional plan in 2010. Work engaged a wide range of stakeholders and all parts of the plan provide a background of information from which sectoral proirities were identified.

This mass of data was then distilled to a number of regional priority areas and identified projects of regional significance.

At the same time as RDA worked on its plan, the South West Development Commission did likewise. The two organisations then came together to create a mutually agreed list of priority areas and actions.

In turn, that document was presented to the CEOs and elected heads of all regional councils. Ultimately, agreement was reached between RDA, SWDC and SWALGA on what now constitutes the SW Action Statement.

It was always intended that the SW Action Statement should not be a static piece of work but should be revisited from time to time and should engage all stakeholders. The Action Statement is not an RDA, SWDC or SWALGA plan, but is owned by the entire regional community.

In 2011, the RDA-South West Regional Plan will be updated and will take on even greater significance as a source of robust information, providing a basis for making RDA Fund decisions.

The existing document can be downloaded in three parts. Each is 3-4MB.
